Law enforcement officials have taken into custody Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the younger sibling of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), along with his legal representative, Aloy Ejimakor.

Ejimakor confirmed the detentions in a message posted on his X account, revealing that several other participants in the protest were also apprehended by the police.
“We have just been detained. Myself, Prince Emmanuel, and others are currently at the FCT COMMAND CID. Myself, Fine Boy, and others are here at No 1 Zaria Street, Gariki 2, Abuja,” Ejimakor stated.

Prior to the arrests, the lawyer accused the police of deploying tear gas to break up the crowd gathered for the rally.
