Kelechi Iheanacho, the Super Eagles and Celtic striker, has made an impressive impact since his arrival in Scotland, netting two goals and assisting once in just three appearances, according to Soccernet.ng.
The 28-year-old forward quickly won over his new teammates and has received commendations from Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, who believes Iheanacho is poised to contribute even more to the team’s success.
After Iheanacho’s goal against Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Europa League, former Leicester City star Gary Lineker publicly applauded the Nigerian attacker’s performance.

Gary Lineker Praises Iheanacho’s Celtic Debut
Iheanacho’s promising start at Celtic Park has been further bolstered by Lineker’s encouraging remarks.
“I caught the highlights-one of our Leicester favourites, Kelechi Iheanacho, found the net. I believe he’s going to score plenty for Celtic,” the 64-year-old commented on The Rest is Football podcast.
“Brendan Rodgers knows him well from their time together at Leicester.”

“He’s an exceptional finisher, and I expect him to rack up goals in the Scottish Premiership.”
“When he’s in form, he’s unstoppable. He’s a natural goal-getter with intelligent movement.”
“We admired him at Leicester. He always maintained a positive attitude, even when sidelined. Perhaps that’s why he hasn’t yet reached the heights we anticipated,” Lineker added.
Micah Richards, former Manchester City defender and ex-teammate of Iheanacho, also shared his perspective.
“Having played alongside him at Manchester City, I had high expectations. I thought he’d become a top striker.”
“Maybe not Champions League level here, but certainly a forward for a top-five club, given his calmness in front of goal.”
“He had opportunities at City, started scoring, then Leicester invested heavily in him-a record sale at the time-but it didn’t quite pan out.”

“Now at Celtic, it seems he’s regained his confidence, and this is a fantastic stage for him to showcase his talents,” Richards concluded on CBS Sports Golazo.
Looking ahead, Celtic will host Hibernian in their upcoming SPFL fixture this Saturday, currently leading the Scottish Premiership standings.
