Thursday, September 18th, was anything but ordinary in the house as the much-anticipated Guinness Can Challenge took center stage. As the Gold Sponsor of the season, Guinness ensured the evening was packed with excitement and unforgettable moments.
This week’s theme, Flying Solo, meant the housemates had to navigate the night without Biggie’s guidance. However, leadership was far from absent. Head of House Zita embraced the role of Game Master, expertly steering the contestants through each round, ensuring fairness, and keeping the energy high throughout the competition.
The evening launched with a hilarious and chaotic race where participants donned oversized inflatable bubble suits. Their mission: to gather as many Guinness cans as possible before time ran out. Picture housemates bouncing off one another, tumbling to the floor, and struggling to maintain balance-all while grabbing cans. The scene was both comical and fiercely competitive, with each can earning 5 crucial points for their team.
Following the bubble suit frenzy, the housemates engaged in a giant board game spanning 34 spaces. Players spun a wheel to advance, but the real twist came with landing on Harp Boxes-these triggered surprise challenges that could either boost a team’s progress or set them back. The atmosphere was electric as unexpected turns kept everyone on edge. Ultimately, Team Bold reached the table first and swiftly began constructing their Guinness can pyramid, securing another victory.
The climax of the night was the intense Guinness Can Hunt. Two representatives from each team raced to locate two Guinness cans and two goblets hidden within 18 lockers. With only one key available at a time, players had to strategize, remember previous attempts, and stay calm under pressure. The house buzzed with shouts and frantic searching as the clock ticked down. Team Bold cracked the puzzle first, pulling ahead and positioning themselves for the overall win.
No Guinness event would be complete without the signature Perfect Pour. Each team selected a housemate to perform this iconic ritual. Rooboy brought energy and speed for Team Bold, while Thelma delivered a flawless, classic pour for Team Smooth, providing the perfect finish to the night’s festivities.
When the scores were finally added up, Team Bold emerged victorious. Kudos to Faith, Koyin, Rooboy, Sultana, Dede, Joanna, Mide, and Kaybobo for their outstanding teamwork, bold spirit, and relentless determination.
The excitement extended beyond the house, as Guinness enthusiasts who interacted with @guinness_africa’s posts also won exclusive Guinness jerseys and cans, keeping the celebration alive at home.
Once again, Guinness demonstrated why it stands as more than just a beverage-it embodies boldness, smoothness, and moments that linger in memory.
