In a heartfelt revelation, Nollywood star Habibat Jinad shared insights into her complicated rapport with fellow actor Lateef Adedimeji, highlighting that he had blocked her for an extended period of four years.
During an Instagram live session, Jinad took a trip down memory lane, recalling their early careers when both were relatively unknown in the film industry. She recounted a particularly painful incident that left a deep mark on her.
Jinad narrated how she once extended an invitation to Lateef to feature in one of her projects, only to receive an unexpected reply. She revealed that Adedimeji expressed a preference for collaborating exclusively with individuals he considered “fortunate.”
She shared, “At one point, I approached Lateef Adedimeji to act in my movie. He told me plainly that he only wanted to work with fortunate people. It stung initially, but I decided to keep moving forward.”
Although initially hurt, Jinad stressed that she bore no resentment towards him. However, when she later tried to reconnect through another producer, she was taken aback to discover she had been blocked for years.
“I reached out again, only to find out I had been blocked for nearly four years. He finally unblocked me in January 2025,” she admitted, confessing that the reason behind this remained unclear to her.
Jinad clarified that her intention in sharing this story was not to stir controversy but to shed light on how fame can sometimes alter relationships within the entertainment circle.
