I Spent More Time Dodging Cameras Than Working Out,” Gym-Goer Complains-Here’s What Happened!

  • A man’s witty complaint about maneuvering around tripods at the gym has ignited a lively online conversation about how content creators are dominating workout areas and causing discomfort for others.

Gym regular Ama Udofa recently stirred a wave of online chatter after expressing his annoyance over the increasing presence of content creators who occupy gym floors with their filming gear.

Sharing his experience on X, Udofa recounted that during his first gym session in a year, he found himself spending more time weaving around tripods than focusing on his exercises. His humorous take struck a chord with many who echoed similar frustrations.

One commenter, Darlington, joked that navigating the gym now feels like “a daily obstacle course for fitness buffs, with tripods everywhere,” while another user, Sharon, confessed she avoids gyms altogether to escape being inadvertently featured in someone’s social media clips.

In other headlines, Afrobeats artist Spyro has opened up about his spiritual approach to music releases, emphasizing the role of prayer before and after launching new tracks.

During a recent sit-down with Frank Edoho, Spyro shared that he turns to divine guidance to navigate the costly and competitive music industry.

He explained, “My process is a bit different. Before dropping any song, I always start with prayer because I want clarity. The music business demands a lot financially, and I’m aware of that.”

Spyro revealed that promoting a single song can run into hundreds of millions of naira, highlighting the significant investment required.

He detailed that producing a top-tier music video, such as for his hit ‘Shut Down,’ cost upwards of 40 million naira.

The singer-songwriter also pointed out that expenses extend beyond production to include radio airplay and, crucially, social media marketing.

“Sometimes, the budget for just one track reaches hundreds of millions. For a quality video, you’re looking at 20 to 40 million naira. ‘Shut Down’ alone cost me over 40 million. Plus, there’s the cost of getting the song on radio stations,” he noted.

Spyro further discussed the hefty fees involved in collaborating with influencers on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, as well as the high price of running sponsored advertisements, mentioning that Instagram ads were once more expensive than TikTok promotions.

“Social media is where most of the money goes. Paying TikTok and Instagram influencers, running sponsored ads-it all adds up. Back then, Instagram ads were pricier than TikTok,” he said.

To mitigate these costs, Spyro has cultivated a supportive network within the industry, allowing for more cost-effective collaborations.

He shared, “I’ve invested in relationships with fellow artists and industry folks. We support each other, which helps reduce expenses. I show up for them, they show up for me.”

Spyro also emphasized that his choice of which song to release is guided by spiritual insight.

“When it’s time to drop a track, I seek God’s direction because I don’t want to miss the mark. People might think God isn’t concerned with these things, but He is very involved. The first single from my album came straight from that guidance,” he explained.

He recounted waking up inspired by a song and immediately contacting his producer to record it early the same morning.

“I called my producer at 6:30 a.m. to record. When I arrived, I asked why he agreed to such an early session. He said someone who rarely contacts him called and said, ‘Spyro is coming to record this week-give it your all.'”
