On Tuesday, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, the Acting Chairperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), convened a meeting with the chairpersons and secretaries of officially registered political parties at INEC’s headquarters in Abuja.
This gathering marked her inaugural official interaction with political party leaders since stepping into the acting role. It forms part of INEC’s ongoing series of stakeholder consultations in preparation for the November 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
The Commission emphasized that the session was intended to foster meaningful dialogue with political parties, focusing on key matters related to the organization and execution of the forthcoming election.
By facilitating this exchange, INEC aims to collaboratively address any uncertainties and ensure thorough readiness for the Anambra governorship contest.
Moreover, this consultative forum is anticipated to pave the way for subsequent discussions involving security agencies, civil society organizations, and other relevant election participants in the weeks ahead, all geared towards delivering a transparent, credible, and smooth electoral process in the state.
