Deadly Warning: Israel Threatens Gaza City Residents Amid Rising Toll of 13 Killed in Enclave

Israeli Defence Minister Katz declares that all individuals remaining in Gaza City will be labeled as ‘terrorists and terror affiliates’.

Since early morning, Israeli strikes have claimed the lives of at least 13 Palestinians across Gaza, as Israel issued a stern ultimatum to tens of thousands still residing in Gaza City. The government warned that this is their final chance to evacuate before facing the full intensity of Israel’s military campaign.

On Wednesday, Defence Minister Israel Katz posted on X that those who refuse to leave will be deemed “terrorists and terror supporters.”

The relentless airstrikes have devastated Gaza City, the region’s most populous urban area, resulting in daily casualties, widespread destruction of homes and educational institutions, and forcing a mass exodus of Palestinians toward the southern parts of Gaza. Tragically, many fleeing civilians have been targeted en route.

On Thursday, emergency responders confirmed that a child was killed by an Israeli drone strike in the Ansar neighborhood, located west of Gaza City.

Medical sources reported that nine individuals lost their lives and thirteen sustained injuries when Israeli forces targeted displaced populations in central Gaza.

In the al-Bureij refugee camp, a drone strike destroyed a residence, killing a Palestinian man and his wife.

Further south, near Deir el-Balah, another Palestinian was killed and over ten others wounded in a drone attack. In Khan Younis, southern Gaza, eight people were injured when an Israeli drone bombed a tent sheltering displaced persons on the Al-Aqsa University campus in the al-Mawasi area-an area Israel has repeatedly struck despite labeling it a “safe zone.”

Despite the ongoing bombardment designed to push civilians southward, some Palestinians are risking their lives to return northward. The exodus from northern Gaza to the south remains perilous, with many caught in the crossfire.

On Wednesday, the Gaza Government Media Office announced that Israeli forces had closed al-Rashid Street, a critical route that civilians depend on to travel between Gaza’s various districts.

Due to the intensifying conflict, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) declared a temporary halt to its operations in Gaza City on Wednesday, following a similar suspension by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) last week.

The ICRC emphasized that it will continue to assist civilians from its fully operational offices in Deir el-Balah and Rafah whenever conditions permit.

Meanwhile, Hamas remains in discussions over a U.S.-proposed ceasefire aimed at ending the brutal two-year conflict. The group’s acceptance of the plan, which largely aligns with Israel’s objectives, remains uncertain.
