- The ongoing dispute between Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has reignited.
- Ojo is preparing to initiate fresh legal proceedings against Anjorin, accusing her of defamation, issuing curses, and threatening her family.
- This development comes after the Lagos State High Court dismissed Ojo’s ₦1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin earlier this year.
The long-standing rivalry between Nollywood figures Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has once again come to the forefront, with Ojo declaring her intention to pursue new legal action against Anjorin over alleged defamatory remarks, curses, and threats directed at her family members.
This announcement follows the earlier dismissal of Ojo’s ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit by the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division. The court ruled against Ojo due to procedural grounds and ordered her legal representative, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay ₦500,000 in legal fees to Anjorin’s counsel, Ademola Olabiyi.
In a recent Instagram statement, Ojo disclosed that her legal team has been vigilantly monitoring Anjorin’s comments, meticulously recording them for potential future litigation.
“My lawyers are fully alert and documenting every detail. Wisdom lies in heeding sound advice. Everything unfolds in its own time,” she remarked.
The actress voiced her distress over the continuous barrage of insults, curses, and purported death threats that Anjorin has allegedly directed at her children and grandson.
“The verbal attacks, curses, and even death wishes Lizzy has aimed at my family, especially my grandson, are deeply painful. Often, I strive to remain calm, choosing to overlook the provocations. But those blessed by God cannot be cursed,” Ojo shared.
Ojo further explained that she had recently been focused on celebrating the arrival of her first grandchild and supporting her daughter, but she signaled that stronger legal responses would be initiated upon her return to Lagos.
The tension between these two actresses has spanned several years, frequently playing out both on social media and in the courtroom. Insiders reveal that the conflict escalated after Ojo publicly supported Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General and daughter of President Bola Tinubu, who is also married to Anjorin’s husband.
This endorsement reportedly sparked a wave of accusations and online hostility from Anjorin, intensifying their feud. Anjorin has allegedly used Facebook live broadcasts to mock Ojo, leading to parody clips circulating on platforms such as TikTok.
Ojo has accused Anjorin of orchestrating threats against her family, including a threatening letter sent to her daughter, Priscilla, in May, warning that their activities were under surveillance. The dispute worsened after a fire incident at Ojo’s Lagos office, which she suspects may be connected to the ongoing threats, insisting that Anjorin should be held responsible if any harm befalls her family.
Despite legal setbacks, Ojo has maintained a composed silence, guided by her legal advisors and personal discipline. However, she emphasized in her recent post that she will no longer allow the issue to remain unresolved.
“Silence holds power,” she noted, adding that while she had previously chosen to ignore provocations to prioritize her family, the moment for legal action is imminent.
With a mix of lawsuits, formal complaints, online confrontations, and personal threats marking their rivalry, the dispute between Ojo and Anjorin remains one of the most public and intense conflicts in Nollywood.
