During an exclusive early access episode of the Armchair Expert podcast on Wondery+, Aniston candidly described the emotional challenges she faced while trying to conceive. However, she emphasized that adoption was never a path she felt compelled to follow.
Having openly discussed her fertility journey before, including her experiences with in vitro fertilization (IVF), Aniston reiterated her stance on adoption when co-host Monica Padman mentioned her own decision to freeze her eggs.

“There’s a calmness to it,” Aniston responded. “But eventually, you reach a point where it’s beyond your control. There’s absolutely nothing more you can do.”
She went on to clarify, “When people suggest, ‘Why not adopt?’ I have to say, I don’t want to. I desire a child who carries my own genetic makeup. Whether that sounds selfish or not, that’s always been my wish.”
