President Bola Tinubu has officially submitted a letter to the Senate requesting the approval of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
As outlined by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Dr. Doro’s nomination comes in the wake of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda’s election as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Prior to this, Yilwatda held the position of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Dr. Doro, born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, brings over two decades of diverse expertise spanning clinical healthcare, pharmaceutical administration, strategic leadership, and community development both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He holds academic qualifications in Pharmacy and Law, complemented by an MBA with a specialization in IT-driven business strategies, as well as a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.
With frontline experience in the NHS, Dr. Doro is an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner who has worked extensively in urgent care units, walk-in centres, general practitioner clinics, and hospital environments.
Additionally, he has been actively involved in mentoring youth and spearheading social impact projects within diaspora communities and his local environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to societal development.
