Three legislators from Kaduna State, apc-council-chairmen-seek-tenure-extension-2028/” title=”Osun … Local Council Chairmen Push for Tenure Extension to 2028 Amidst Challenges”>originally elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) banner, have officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives.
The lawmakers involved are Hon. Abdulkarim Ahmed of Kaduna South, Aliyu Abdullahi representing Ikara/Kubau, and Sadiq Abdullahi from Sabon Gari federal constituency, all hailing from Kaduna State.
Their switch in party allegiance was made public through individual letters presented by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen during the resumed plenary session on Tuesday.
Each of the defectors pointed to ongoing internal conflicts within the PDP and the need to better serve their constituents as key motivations for their decision to change parties.
Notably, Kaduna State Governor Ubani Sani, himself a former legislator, was present in the chamber to witness and endorse the transition of these representatives into the APC fold.
