ADC Leader in Kano Condemns Alleged Corruption in Governor Yusuf’s Administration
Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Amin, widely recognized as Ibrahim Little and a former governorship aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano, has publicly accused Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration of being embroiled in multiple corruption controversies.
Calls for an End to Misappropriation of Public Resources
In a statement released on Tuesday, Ibrahim Little voiced his alarm over the increasing number of corruption allegations linked to the current government. He urged Governor Yusuf to immediately halt the mismanagement and embezzlement of state funds.
Financial Irregularities Under Scrutiny
Little referenced investigative reports indicating that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) have traced approximately ₦6.5 billion to the bank account of Abdullahi Ibrahim Rogo, the governor’s protocol director. He emphasized that this discovery should prompt urgent and firm action from the governor.
Questionable Procurement Deals Raise Accountability Concerns
The ADC leader also highlighted previous accusations involving the diversion of local government funds to purchase medical supplies from NOVOMED, a pharmaceutical company allegedly connected to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso’s nephew. According to Little, these drugs were never delivered to public hospitals, casting serious doubts on the transparency and integrity of the procurement process.
Legal Proceedings and Forfeiture of Funds
Further compounding the administration’s challenges, Little pointed out that over ₦1.1 billion has been seized and forfeited to the ICPC, underscoring that these are not mere allegations but matters currently undergoing judicial scrutiny.
Rejecting Deflections and Emphasizing Responsibility
He criticized Governor Yusuf for repeatedly attributing the state’s financial mismanagement to the previous government, arguing that such excuses do not justify ongoing corrupt practices. Little dismissed Yusuf’s claim that former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje spent ₦20 billion on protocol expenses within three months as an inadequate defense.

Highlighting the severe economic challenges facing Nigerians, including inflation and widespread poverty, Ibrahim Little stressed the imperative for leaders to safeguard public funds with integrity and a sense of divine accountability. He reminded public officials that their actions will be judged in the hereafter, stating, “On the Day of Judgement, every leader will be held responsible for their stewardship.”
