The Kebbi State government is committed to elevating the standards of livestock farming and animal husbandry to meet global benchmarks.
Governor Nasir Idris expressed this commitment during a meeting with veterinary professionals in Birnin Kebbi.
He emphasized that his administration prioritizes the welfare of veterinary practitioners alongside the advancement of the livestock industry, aiming to enhance the economic well-being of the state’s residents.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabiru Usman Alaramma, the governor revealed that the state is nearing the completion of the nation’s largest veterinary clinic, a project initiated under his leadership in Birnin Kebbi.
Furthermore, the government has taken significant measures to empower both smallholder and commercial livestock farmers, including the establishment of designated game reserves to reduce conflicts between farmers and herders.
In addition, Kebbi State has forged partnerships with the governments of Brazil and Indonesia to collaborate on livestock production, aiming to enhance agricultural output and sustainability.
