The Government of Kogi State has conveyed profound grief and sorrow following the untimely demise of Ms. Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, a distinguished ARISE News Anchor, who tragically lost her life during a reported armed robbery incident in Abuja.
According to a release from Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Maduagwu’s death represents a significant loss not only to her immediate family and colleagues at ARISE News but also to the entire nation, where her professionalism resonated strongly within public discourse.
The statement emphasized, “The people and government of Kogi State are deeply saddened by the heartbreaking news of Ms. Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu’s passing. As a talented young anchor, reporter, and producer at ARISE News, her life was cut short in a violent robbery in Abuja.”
“Somtochukwu exemplified dedication and excellence in journalism, approaching her work with passion, intelligence, and unwavering commitment.
