The Elders’ Caucus of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kwara State has expressed deep sorrow over the recent violent incidents affecting various communities within the state.
Extending heartfelt condolences, the group particularly mourned the loss of 12 vigilantes in the Oke-Ode area of Ifelodun local government, a tragic outcome of a bandit attack.
They also conveyed their sympathies to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, acknowledging the distress caused by these violent acts in both the Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts.
In an official release endorsed by Chairman Barr. Kunle Sulyman and Secretary Hon. AbdulMumini Katibi, the Caucus commended the governor’s proactive strategies aimed at enhancing security across the state.
Among these initiatives are the enlistment of approximately 2,700 Forest Guards, bolstering vigilante groups with financial and health benefits through the State Health Insurance Scheme, engaging key community stakeholders, and fostering cooperation with the National Security Adviser’s office, alongside other critical security efforts.
