The Lagos State government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA) in its ongoing battle against infectious diseases.
Through the Ministry of Health, the state lauded the foundation’s impactful initiatives within schools and local communities.
In collaboration with Reckitt Nigeria, WBFA has been actively promoting fundamental hygiene habits, particularly handwashing, across educational institutions to safeguard children from infectious illnesses and minimize school absenteeism in Lagos, Kwara states, and the Federal Capital Territory.
During the recent Dettol Hygiene Quest Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Lagos, Dr. Yeside Shogbaminu, representing the Ministry of Health, praised the campaign’s effectiveness and reiterated the government’s dedication to sustaining the program.
She stated, “Our goal is to synchronize efforts and foster partnerships that will yield positive lagos-govt-reopens-oko-oba-abattoir/” title=”… govt reopens Oko-Oba Abattoir”>health outcomes throughout Lagos State. He emphasized that institutionalizing handwashing practices in schools is crucial to alleviating the prevalence of infectious diseases.
He explained, “Maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation is essential for building a healthier future. Our long-term dedication to promoting Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health plus Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) reflects our vision of a society where health and happiness are accessible to all. We remain focused on strengthening health systems with a particular emphasis on hygiene education.”
