Lebara, a prominent global Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), has launched an extensive hiring campaign in Nigeria as it prepares to commence operations in 2026. Known for catering to diaspora and international clientele across Europe and beyond, the company is recruiting for 28 vital roles spanning technical, commercial, and executive leadership positions.
Key leadership vacancies include the Head of Finance, who will oversee financial strategy, budgeting, and regulatory adherence for Lebara’s Nigerian operations. Other critical roles encompass heads of Innovation & Partnerships, Brand & Marketing, Customer Experience, Service Delivery & Quality, alongside technical experts such as NOC Manager, OSS/BSS & IT Infrastructure Manager, and Core Network Engineer.
This recruitment initiative marks a significant milestone in Lebara’s strategic expansion into Nigeria, one of Africa’s most dynamic telecommunications markets. The company’s entry is poised to intensify competition within the mobile sector, joining players like Vitel Wireless, which has already launched an MVNO service, and ntel, which plans to debut in early 2026.
Although Lebara enjoys a strong reputation among global diaspora and roaming customers, insiders reveal that these segments are not the sole focus of their market approach in Nigeria.
Lebara’s roaming model centers on providing affordable connectivity solutions for international travelers and mobile users. By securing roaming partnerships with various telecom providers, the company offers a seamless “one SIM, multiple countries” experience, allowing users to access local rates across borders.
Additionally, Lebara aims to serve migrants, expatriates, and transnational families by offering competitively priced international calling plans, multilingual customer service, and community-focused features such as international money transfers and overseas airtime top-ups.
