In a demonstration of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Livebridge Properties and Investment Limited recently extended vital humanitarian aid to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing at the Karmajiji camp in Abuja. This gesture was part of the celebrations marking the birthday of the company’s Group Managing Director and CEO, Dr. Nwaneri Obinna Flaker.

The outreach program offered complimentary medical services to over 1,000 camp inhabitants, alongside the distribution of nutritious food and essential supplies, with a special focus on children, women, and the elderly.

During the event, Dr. Flaker emphasized the crucial role that private enterprises must play in supplementing governmental efforts to assist marginalized populations.

“Government resources alone are insufficient to address all societal needs. That is why we have embraced this IDP camp within our corporate social responsibility framework. Celebrating my birthday by giving back to those in need is truly a privilege,” he remarked.

He further affirmed the company’s dedication to supporting vulnerable groups, particularly those lacking access to healthcare or necessary mobility devices such as wheelchairs.

“Many individuals here cannot afford medical care, and some require mobility assistance. Our goal is to alleviate these challenges through our support,” Dr. Flaker added.

Faith Nwaneri Obinna, Director at Livebridge Properties, also spoke on the importance of narrowing the divide between affluent and disadvantaged communities. She highlighted women’s empowerment as a pivotal strategy in combating poverty.

“Empowering women with skills and resources enables them to generate income and uplift their families. It is imperative that the government invests in vocational training programs for women, as they have the capacity to amplify the benefits they receive,” she stated.

Alice Ejembi, Head of Operations at Livebridge Properties, revealed that the company has implemented similar initiatives in other IDP camps, including Kaura.

“Our efforts extend beyond food distribution; we provide medical screenings, essential supplies, and mobility aids such as wheelchairs to improve quality of life,” she explained.

Recipients of the outreach expressed deep gratitude toward Livebridge Properties for their ongoing assistance. Muhammad Dantini, a camp resident, praised the company’s sustained commitment over the years.

“Livebridge Properties has consistently supported us through healthcare services, food provisions, and other necessities. Their kindness has made a significant impact on many lives here in Karmajiji. We pray for continued blessings upon them,” he said.
