The Nigerian currency, the naira, continued to gain against the American dollar at the official window on Thursday.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the naira closed at N1, 514.86/$1 as against the N1, 521.45/$1 it traded on Wednesday.
This represents an appreciation of N6.59 for the local currency against the American greenback.
The naira lost N5 against the dollar to trade at N1,545/$1, as against the previous day’s rate of N1,540/$1.

It, however, gained N10 against the British Pound to trade at N2,105/£1 as against the previous day’s rate of N2,115/£1.
The naira closed flat against the Canadian dollar to trade at N1,230/CA$1.
The local currency also gained N10 against the Euro to trade at ₦1,785/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,795/€1.
