The ongoing tension between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj flared up again this week as both rappers took to X to trade barbs.
The latest clash began when Nicki Minaj, 42, posted on Monday evening, “Never provoke a writer while they’re ✍🏽,” teasing her upcoming album slated for release on March 27, 2026. She added, “Let the reindeer games begin.”
To every enabler:

Following this, the Pink Friday artist launched a series of now-deleted tweets targeting 32-year-old Cardi B, including a jab referencing the $4.99 promotional price of Cardi’s Am I the Drama? album on iTunes.
Nicki also derided the pregnant Cardi by dubbing her “Barney Dangerous” and ridiculing her album’s commercial success, despite it debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and achieving double platinum status in its first week.
The rapper took aim at Cardi’s song “Magnet,” mocking the lyrics: “A-B-C-D-E-F-G / these bitches can’t fuck with me.”
“Abcdefgeeeeeeee,” Nicki tweeted. “SUR GER REE TO LOOK LIKE MEEEEEE / tell the rat & tell J ZEEEEEE / Rico Fraud & PERJURY.”
“Dropping off the charts with a big bellyyyy / RUNNING TRAINS,” she added. “Barefoot, still smellyyyyy / Still. You. Could. Not. outsell. meeeeee.”
Cardi B quickly fired back, labeling Nicki “Cocaine Barbie” and sharing her own diss verses from “Magnet” aimed at Nicki.
“A B C D E F G / Your man has to snatch PUSSY / Pussy tastes like honey comb / Your bro be touching 12 year olds,” Cardi wrote. She added, “Damn, she was streaming ‘Magnet’ hard as hell huh??”
Addressing Nicki’s critiques of her album sales, Cardi stated, “It’s not the joke you think it is… You’ve been in the industry for about 16 years. You should be comparing yourself to your contemporaries who started around your era.”
“Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake… those are the benchmarks you should be aiming for, and you’re falling short compared to all of them. I was still in high school when you debuted, so why are you comparing yourself to me?”
Cardi also hit back at Nicki for comments about her pregnancy with her fourth child and first with Stefon Diggs.
“Like you weren’t visiting multiple fertility specialists because you couldn’t conceive from all those Percocets scrambling your eggs. NOT ALLEGEDLY… Lord protect my babies,” Cardi tweeted.
The exchange quickly deteriorated into a meme war, with both artists sharing images mocking each other featuring Barney and pink wigs.
