The Nigeria-Britain Association (NBA) has announced its plans to host the 2025 edition of the annual Nigeria Independence Day celebration in the United Kingdom, commemorating Nigeria’s 65 years of independence.

Under the theme “Nigeria & the UK: Building Bridges, Creating Futures,” this year’s event aims to unite Nigerians and supporters of Nigeria residing in the UK to honor the nation’s rich cultural legacy while strengthening the diplomatic and economic connections between the two countries.

In a statement released on Tuesday, NBA President Sola Oyetayo highlighted the significance of the occasion, emphasizing the participation of the nigeria-prison-congestion-nba/” title=”Inside …'s Overcrowded Prisons: Insights from the … President”>association’s newly appointed patron, former Commonwealth Secretary-General Chief Emeka Anyaoku.

“This marks the fifth consecutive year of our celebration, continuing a cherished tradition that celebrates the enduring relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom,” Oyetayo remarked.

He further noted that the event is designed not only as a celebration but also as a dynamic forum for cultural exchange and business networking.

“Each year, the event has provided a valuable opportunity to engage with our current partners and establish new collaborations. This edition will be particularly notable with Chief Emeka Anyaoku leading the customary courtesy visits that define the event,” Oyetayo added.

The 2025 festivities are anticipated to draw distinguished Nigerian figures, diplomats, business leaders, artists, and officials from both Nigerian and British governments.

The NBA also revealed sponsorship commitments from prominent organizations including Air Peace, Fidelity Bank Plc, Dangote Industries Limited, and BK90 Restaurant & Lounge. Air Peace will act as the official airline partner, offering special discounted rates for attendees, while Fidelity Bank will support initiatives aimed at fostering international partnerships. BK90 will contribute entertainment services, and Dangote Industries’ sponsorship underscores its dedication to promoting Nigeria’s presence on the global stage.

Founded in 1969, the Nigeria-Britain Association continues to serve as a vital platform for nurturing cultural understanding, business cooperation, and social development between Nigeria and the UK.
