Engineer Simon O. Nkom, the President of the Nigeria Hockey Federation (NHF), has secured a position on the executive board of the African Hockey Federation (AfHF) during its 25th Ordinary Congress held at the Mercure Hotel in Ismailia, Egypt, on Thursday.
This prestigious gathering brought together key hockey officials and stakeholders from across Africa, marking a pivotal moment in the governance and strategic direction of hockey on the continent.
Engr. Nkom’s appointment reflects his steadfast dedication and impactful efforts toward the development and promotion of hockey within Nigeria and across Africa.
During his acceptance speech, he conveyed heartfelt appreciation for the confidence placed in him by his peers and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the sport throughout Africa.
The congress also honored Nigeria’s Professor Ediga, who concluded ten years of distinguished service on the AfHF Executive Board.
His invaluable contributions to African hockey governance were acknowledged by Mr. Tayyab Ikram, President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), and Mr. Seif Ahmed, President of the AfHF, who both paid tribute to his legacy.
