Nigeria recently celebrated a select group of outstanding individuals in recognition of their dedication, perseverance, and significant contributions to the nation’s progress.
At the Nigeria’s Pride Award 2025, Mr. Bonaventure Melah, the founder and director of First Green White Resources Integrated (FGWR), highlighted the event as a tribute to exceptional achievements and unwavering commitment across various sectors.
Mr. Ahaziah Suleman, Chairman of the Organising Committee, emphasized that the honourees were chosen through a rigorous evaluation process, focusing on their exemplary leadership, dedication, and impactful service within their respective professions.
“You stand out as the finest among your peers, which is why you are being celebrated today. This year’s recipients truly capture the essence of what these awards represent. We are particularly grateful for the relentless efforts of our Armed Forces, whose vigilance allows us to rest peacefully,” he remarked.
General Paul Boroh, former presidential adviser on Niger Delta Affairs and chairman of the ceremony, praised both the organisers and the awardees for their roles in fostering excellence.
He observed that such acknowledgments serve to inspire emerging talents, promote integrity, and reinforce the culture of high standards that this prestigious platform embodies.
Representing Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, Mr. Ibidapo Okunu, Director of Publication, Production, and Documentation, commended FGWR for initiating the award, noting that it “cultivates a spirit of gratitude towards those who dedicate themselves to national service.”
“Private sector initiatives like this complement governmental efforts and help strengthen the unity between citizens,” Okunu added.
He also lauded General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, for receiving The Shield of the Nation award, describing it as “a testament to his outstanding leadership, selfless dedication, and steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s security and peace.”
The honourees this year represent a broad spectrum of Nigerian society, including General Christopher Musa, Senator Ireti Kingibe representing the Federal Capital Territory, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, and renowned Nollywood actress and activist Tonto Dikeh.
