On September 18, 2025, the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) honored Professor Dilli Dogo, FNAMed, Vice-Chancellor of Nile University of Nigeria, with its esteemed Distinguished Fellowship Award (DFMC).
This accolade was presented during the College’s 43rd Convocation Ceremony, celebrating Prof. Dogo’s outstanding dedication to medicine, academia, and the advancement of national development. As a distinguished surgeon, educator, and strategic leader, he has devoted over 40 years to enhancing healthcare systems and fostering institutional growth across Nigeria and the African continent.
Beginning his journey as an exceptional medical student at the University of Maiduguri, Prof. Dogo has emerged as a leading figure in medical education and practice. His influential roles include membership on the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), participation in the Nigerian National Merit Award Assessment Committee, and serving on the Board of Directors at MANCOSA University in South Africa. These positions reflect his significant contributions to shaping policies, elevating standards, and promoting institutional excellence both nationally and internationally.

Currently, as the Vice-Chancellor of Nile University of Nigeria-where he also held the position of Provost of the College of Health Sciences from 2016 to 2022-Prof. Dogo has been instrumental in transforming the university into a dynamic and globally recognized center of academic excellence.
