Filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan is extending an invitation to producers, directors, and casting agents to engage in the next developmental stage of the OneTake App-a dynamic platform crafted to bridge the gap between actors and filmmakers. Following a successful beta phase, the app is now ready for expanded industry participation and constructive feedback.
Accessible via both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, OneTake offers two distinct versions, each identified by its unique logo color. The red-logo app caters to actors, enabling them to create comprehensive profiles, upload professional headshots, and highlight their skills. Conversely, the black-logo app is tailored for industry insiders-producers, directors, and casting agents-who can utilize it to discover and recruit suitable talent.
Connecting Talent with Industry Professionals
“The real magic happens in the matching process,” Akinmolayan remarked. “While the red OneTake empowers actors, the black OneTake is designed for producers, directors, and casting agents to seamlessly connect with the right performers.”
Refining the Professional Experience Through Feedback
He highlighted that the professional edition of the app remains under active development, emphasizing the importance of industry insights to tailor the platform effectively. “We need your input to determine if the timing is right and if the app meets the community’s needs,” he said. “Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or emerging professional, your participation in testing and providing detailed feedback is invaluable.”
Ensuring Trust with Verified Access
Akinmolayan stressed that access to the black-logo version requires a verification process to safeguard actors and maintain the platform’s integrity. “Unfortunately, some individuals exploit unsuspecting talents. To prevent this, every industry professional must undergo verification before gaining access,” he explained.
Fast-Track Access and Upcoming Demonstration
To facilitate early adoption, Akinmolayan encouraged interested producers, directors, and casting agents to submit their email addresses directly to him for expedited approval.
Additionally, a dedicated Zoom demonstration is scheduled for Saturday, offering a comprehensive walkthrough of the app’s functionalities. Users will learn how to create projects, specify casting criteria such as age, gender, and location, and upload audition details. The app’s intelligent filtering system ensures that only actors who meet the specified requirements submit auditions, streamlining the casting process.
“Even with thousands of actors registered, the app narrows down submissions to those who truly fit your project’s needs,” Akinmolayan noted. “This approach accelerates casting, reduces clutter, and highlights the most fitting talent for your production.”
Empowering Nollywood’s Future Together
Concluding his message, Akinmolayan urged the film community to take an active role in shaping the platform’s evolution: “This is a collaborative effort. Your involvement in testing and refining OneTake will help us build a powerful tool that elevates Nollywood and the global film industry.”
