Nottingham Forest are reportedly nearing an agreement to appoint Sean Dyche as their new manager.
Following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou, Dyche has emerged as the frontrunner to take charge of the Premier League side, with the club aiming to finalize the appointment by Monday.
Postecoglou was relieved of his duties shortly after Forest suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
Currently positioned 18th in the league standings, Forest have managed only one victory in their last eight matches amid a turbulent campaign.
Over the past day, discussions with Dyche have been encouraging, and insiders suggest his likelihood of securing the role has notably increased throughout the weekend.
Meanwhile, Forest have also engaged in talks with Roberto Mancini, and while Fulham’s Marco Silva is highly regarded, his existing contract presents challenges.
Silva’s deal includes a substantial release clause, complicating matters as Forest have already incurred costs from terminating the contracts of Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo this season.
Additionally, Silva’s willingness to depart Fulham during the ongoing season remains uncertain.
Sources now indicate that Dyche stands as the primary candidate, with Silva’s appointment appearing less feasible and initial interest in Mancini having diminished.
