Kano Pillars Football Club has announced the immediate suspension of its Technical Adviser, Ogenyi Evans, along with Chief Coach Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro, due to the team’s disappointing performance in the current 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
According to a release from the club’s Media and Communications Director, Abubakar Isah Dandago, the management took this step in response to the team’s underwhelming results so far this season.
The club’s statement highlighted that after eight league matches, Kano Pillars have managed only two victories, two draws, and suffered four defeats, prompting the decision to make changes in the coaching staff.
Meanwhile, the club has appointed former captain and Assistant Coach Gambo Muhammad, together with goalkeeping coach Suleiman Shuaibu, to oversee the team’s technical responsibilities temporarily. Additionally, Coach Garzali Muhammad (Kusa) from the Junior Pillars squad will assist on a provisional basis until further notice.
This shake-up occurs amid a challenging period for the ‘Sai Masu Gida’ squad, who have faced a string of setbacks recently. Compounding their difficulties, the club was fined over N9 million by the NPFL board following crowd disturbances during a home match at Sani Abacha Stadium. The unrest, triggered by controversial referee decisions, led to fans storming the pitch and caused injuries to several players and officials from the npfl-fines-kano-pillars-9-5m-points-deduction-violence-3sc/” title=”… Hits … with N9.5M Fine and Points Deduction Over Violent Clash with 3SC and Officials (Videos)”>visiting team.
