The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to initiate a thorough investigation into alleged “irregularities” linked to the ongoing legal dispute concerning the Local Government Council crisis in the state.
This controversy originated from a lawsuit filed by the Osun State Government at the Federal High Court in Osogbo, aiming to block the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from disbursing funds to local government officials elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, recent developments have sparked concerns within the PDP about the fairness and transparency of the judicial process.
During a press conference held on Thursday in Osogbo, Sunday Bisi, the PDP Chairman in Osun, voiced serious concerns regarding the involvement of individuals allegedly impersonating judicial officers in the management of the case.
Bisi stated, “We, the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, call on the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to promptly investigate these anomalies. It is crucial to determine how and why persons, who claim to be affiliated with his office but are not legitimate judicial officers, are authorizing letters that carry judicial authority.”
The case reportedly experienced a controversial shift when it was allegedly transferred to Abuja, a decision strongly criticized by the Osun State Government, which accused unnamed parties of attempting to influence the judicial outcome unfairly.

“The state government condemned the relocation as biased,” Bisi remarked, “arguing that there is no justification for moving the case to Abuja,” and further accused the process of being tainted by “manipulation.”

“We insist on accountability. We demand transparency. Above all, we call for unwavering respect for the rule of law,” Bisi affirmed.
As the legal battle unfolds, the PDP’s call for scrutiny intensifies pressure on the judiciary to clarify its internal procedures and reinforce public confidence in the adjudication of politically charged matters.
