Speaking at the inauguration of the 2025 Awareness Drive on Anti-Corruption, Due Process, and Rigorous Oversight of Public Policies, Governor Radda addressed a gathering of councillors in Katsina, urging them to take proactive roles in combating corruption.
“Corruption remains one of the most significant barriers to our development. It depletes resources, diminishes public confidence, and compromises service quality. When councillors act as vigilant guardians, corruption will be effectively rooted out from our communities,” he asserted.
He identified councillors as the frontline defenders against corrupt practices, highlighting their responsibility to ensure that community initiatives are implemented transparently, funds are judiciously managed, and public confidence is upheld.
Governor Radda encouraged the councillors to view this sensitisation campaign not merely as a routine exercise but as a pivotal commitment that aligns with his administration’s “Building a Future Strategic Policy Plan.”
He also underscored the pivotal role of the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), describing it as an autonomous body empowered to investigate corruption cases, raise public awareness, and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Commending the Commission’s dedication, the Governor acknowledged the valuable contributions of partners like the Community Development Programmes (CDP) and the Business and Development Management Board, which have bolstered transparency and accountability in governance.
Highlighting integrity as the most potent tool against corruption, Governor Radda noted that every honest action fortifies the state, while any abuse of power erodes public trust.
“By uniting the efforts of our administration’s policies with the diligent work of the Anti-Corruption Commission, we are paving the way for a future grounded in accountability, justice, and shared prosperity for all citizens,” he concluded.
