FRSC Corps Marshal Details Successful Recovery of Stolen Vehicles Over Two Years
Shehu Mohammed, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), revealed that a total of 114 stolen vehicles have been successfully recovered within a span of two years. Specifically, 76 of these vehicles were intercepted and retrieved during the registration process last year, while an additional 38 have been recovered so far in the current year.
This achievement highlights the FRSC’s ongoing commitment to combating vehicle theft and enhancing road safety through vigilant monitoring and collaboration with relevant agencies. The recovery efforts not only help in returning stolen property to rightful owners but also serve as a deterrent to criminal activities related to vehicle theft.
With vehicle theft remaining a significant concern in Nigeria, the FRSC’s proactive approach demonstrates the impact of integrating technology and thorough verification procedures at registration points. According to recent data from the Nigeria Police Force, vehicle theft cases have seen a slight decline, attributed in part to such coordinated interventions.
Looking ahead, the FRSC plans to expand its surveillance and recovery operations by leveraging advanced tracking systems and increasing public awareness campaigns. These measures aim to further reduce the incidence of stolen vehicles and improve overall road security nationwide.
