Yesterday in Lagos, Schneider Electric introduced its extensive range of liquid cooling solutions tailored specifically for hyperscale, colocation, and high-density data center applications.
This event marked Schneider Electric’s inaugural full presentation of its liquid cooling technology since acquiring a majority stake in Motivair earlier in February 2025. The highlight of the launch was the Motivair by Schneider Electric product line.
Richard Whitmor, CEO of Motivair by Schneider Electric, explained, “As AI processors become increasingly powerful and compact, pushing data center racks beyond 140kW and approaching power densities of 1MW or more, effective cooling strategies are critical. We stand alone as the liquid cooling provider with deep expertise at the silicon level, collaborating closely with NVIDIA and other leading GPU manufacturers. Our comprehensive solutions speed up deployment and enhance ROI for clients globally.”
Andrew Bradner, Schneider Electric’s Senior Vice President of Cooling Business, stressed the necessity of liquid cooling in today’s tech landscape. “AI represents a transformative wave in technology, making liquid cooling indispensable for data centers and AI manufacturing facilities. By merging Schneider Electric’s broad technical knowledge with Motivair’s cutting-edge innovations, we offer a scalable, risk-mitigated portfolio that ensures reliability and confidence for our customers worldwide,” he stated.
Olga Yashkova, IDC’s Research Manager for Enterprise Workloads and Data Center Infrastructure, observed that liquid cooling has transitioned from a performance enhancement to an essential component in modern high-density computing environments. She added, “Schneider Electric’s acquisition of Motivair significantly bolsters its capabilities in power, electrical, and cooling infrastructure. Their integrated solutions streamline implementation and reduce the operational challenges associated with AI-centric data centers.”
