It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest congratulations to my respected leader and colleague, Seyi Tinubu, on the milestone of his fortieth birthday. This moment offers a perfect chance to honour those rare individuals who profoundly influence our views-those who redefine what true leadership entails. Seyi stands out as one such figure: thoughtful, humble, impactful, gentle, and unwavering in his mission. He represents a leader who elevates others quietly, without seeking the spotlight, while providing steady direction and quietly transforming lives.
Having had the privilege to collaborate closely with Seyi, especially during the intense preparations for the 2023 presidential campaign, I can attest to the depth of his character and leadership style.
One cannot overlook Seyi Tinubu’s exceptional intellect. His brilliance shines not through flamboyance but through sharp, strategic insight. He is a subtle mastermind who approaches challenges with careful analysis, devising solutions that often elude others. Throughout our many strategic discussions leading to President Tinubu’s landmark electoral victory, I witnessed a visionary mind capable of setting ambitious targets while remaining grounded in practical realities. Where many see barriers, Seyi identifies pathways for advancement.
A defining trait of Seyi is his steadfast commitment to empowering Nigeria’s youth. In a political arena frequently dominated by rivalry and competition, his outlook is a breath of fresh air. He perceives young Nigerians not as mere campaign assets but as the cornerstone of the nation’s future-individuals deserving mentorship, encouragement, and opportunities to evolve into effective leaders. This dedication is more than rhetoric; it shapes every initiative and decision he undertakes.
The City Boy Movement, which I am honoured to lead as Director-General, embodies Seyi’s passion for youth empowerment. Established during the dynamic period of the 2023 presidential campaign, our organisation serves as a lasting platform for youth engagement and advocacy. With Seyi Tinubu as our Grand Patron, we are committed to harnessing the energy, creativity, and ambitions of Nigerian youth in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of Renewed Hope for the nation.
Our goals extend well beyond electoral victories. We are devoted to ensuring that Nigerians fully grasp the President’s policies and programs. Our focus is on amplifying young voices, making sure they are not only heard but also play a pivotal role in shaping government decisions. We aim to equip the next generation of leaders with the skills, exposure, and opportunities necessary to wield meaningful influence and authority.
Personally, I am grateful for the mentorship I have received from Seyi Tinubu. Acknowledging those who foster our growth is essential. Seyi has opened doors for me that might have otherwise remained shut, generously sharing his knowledge, network, and confidence in my abilities. He lives by the principle that uplifting others enriches our collective future. His leadership cultivates an environment where emerging leaders can thrive, ultimately fortifying our society.
What truly sets Seyi apart is his profound humility. In a political landscape often marked by ego and self-promotion, he remains remarkably grounded. Throughout our strategic sessions during the campaign, I observed a commendable trait: rather than insisting on agreement due to his status, he welcomed and engaged thoughtfully with differing viewpoints.
Seyi exemplifies the vital skill of active listening-a cornerstone of effective leadership today. His capacity to attentively consider others’ perspectives demonstrates deep respect. In our planning meetings, he skillfully integrated diverse opinions, uncovered hidden connections, and crafted strategies that honoured every contribution while keeping us aligned with our common goals. This collaborative approach is a testament to outstanding leadership, and Seyi Tinubu stands as a shining example of the positive influence such leadership can have on Nigeria’s future.
