Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has acknowledged the crucial influence of teammate Victor Osimhen in his rise to prominence. Adams, who marked his national team debut with a goal, attributed much of his success to Osimhen’s encouragement during a difficult period in his European career, which fueled his determination to excel on the field.
Coming on as a substitute for Tolu Arokodare in the 63rd minute of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying match, Adams quickly made his presence felt by netting a goal in the 80th minute. He confidently finished after receiving a perfectly timed assist from Osimhen.
On his official Instagram account, the Sevilla forward expressed gratitude for Osimhen’s inspiring words that helped him realize his ambitions. He recounted how Osimhen’s support was pivotal when he was struggling to establish himself at Norwegian side Sogndal, following his participation with the Flying Eagles at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
