Responding to Mercy’s birthday post, Tacha complimented her as “stunning” and encouraged her to “keep thriving,” a surprising show of goodwill given their history of online disputes.
The fanbase welcomed this development, viewing it as a mature step toward reconciliation.
Their discord dates back several years. In 2023, following Mercy’s display of her Range Rover, Tacha tweeted, “But is she me?” She also insinuated that Mercy’s win was influenced by Tacha’s disqualification, especially after Ilebaye’s All Stars victory. Actress Iheme Nancy defended Mercy, affirming that Mercy secured more votes and rightfully earned her title.
Their feud originated from the intense ‘Pepper Dem’ altercation, which resulted in Tacha’s disqualification and paved the way for Mercy’s triumph.
Despite this, the duo reconciled in 2022 during a joint interview with Toke Makinwa, where they acknowledged that much of their conflict was amplified by fans and social media drama.
In a separate development, Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has vowed to stand unwaveringly by her close friend Iyabo Ojo amid ongoing harassment.
Abraham’s declaration comes in response to the backlash Ojo has endured concerning incidents involving the late Mohbad, Sam Larry, Naira Marley, and persistent criticisms from longtime associate Lizzy Anjorin.
Posting an impassioned message on Instagram, Abraham revealed that she had silently supported Ojo but has now reached her limit.
“My dear Aunty Iyabo… I’ve witnessed the relentless bullying you’ve faced for months. I stayed quiet, fighting alongside you in spirit, hoping it would cease. But it hasn’t. Now, I’m ready to respond, and I hope the world won’t label it as ‘overreacting.’ This time, I’m going all out-not just as a mother, but as the savvy woman I am. Let’s do this,” she declared.
In response, Iyabo Ojo commented, urging calm and expressing love:
“Baby, keep your peace. I love you.”
The exchange, which was later removed, sparked widespread discussion online, with many applauding Abraham’s loyalty while others sympathized with Ojo’s call for composure.
