The platform will reach audiences across more than 50 countries, including key markets such as Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Morocco.
Expanding TIME’s Legacy with a Focus on Africa
For over a century, TIME has been synonymous with reliable journalism and insightful analysis worldwide. Jessica Sibley, CEO of TIME, emphasized that the introduction of TIME Africa marks a strategic extension of the brand’s mission to engage new audiences and deepen coverage of Africa’s influential leaders, innovators, and change agents. “Partnering with Global Venture Partners allows us to authentically connect with the continent and highlight the narratives that truly matter,” Sibley stated.
Strategic Partnership to Spotlight Africa’s Evolution
Josh Wilson, Managing Director at GVP, highlighted the significance of this collaboration amid Africa’s rapid transformation. “TIME’s global reputation for excellence makes it an ideal platform to showcase Africa’s dynamic progress in business, culture, and society. Our partnership ensures that the continent’s remarkable growth and global contributions receive the attention they deserve,” Wilson remarked.
TIME’s Growing Global Reach and African Engagement
Currently, TIME engages over 120 million readers worldwide, marking its most expansive and diverse audience to date. While TIME Africa represents a new chapter, TIME’s connection to Africa is longstanding. The publication has consistently featured African leaders and movements, including the TIME100 Impact Awards Africa held in Rwanda, which celebrated influential figures like Danai Gurira, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and Fred Swaniker.
Notably, African changemakers have been regularly acknowledged in TIME’s prestigious global rankings, such as the TIME100 and the TIME Climate List. For instance, Ugandan climate advocate Vanessa Nakate graced the cover of TIME’s 2021 “The Climate Issue” and was honored with a 2023 TIME Earth Award. Additionally, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, was named in the 2025 TIME100 Health list.
Celebrating Africa’s Cultural and Environmental Richness
Beyond leadership and activism, TIME has also showcased Africa’s unique destinations through its acclaimed World’s Greatest Places series, highlighting the continent’s vibrant cultural heritage and ecological treasures.
TIME Africa: Elevating the Continent’s Global Narrative
With the launch of TIME Africa, the media titan aims not only to broaden its presence but also to ensure that Africa’s ongoing transformation in economic, social, and cultural spheres gains deserved international recognition. This platform will serve as a vital conduit for authentic African stories, fostering greater understanding and appreciation worldwide.
