President Bola Tinubu has named Abdurrazaq Nakore as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council for Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education in Kano.
Additionally, Prof. Abdullahi Kodage has been confirmed as the new Vice Chancellor of the same education-minister-over-alleged-sack-of-varsities-vcs/” title=”Reps invite … minister over alleged sack of varsities’ VCs”>university.
This information was shared on Wednesday in Abuja by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
Abdurrazaq Nakore, who holds a Fellowship with the Nigerian Society of Engineers, previously served as the Executive Secretary of the Rural Electricity Board in Jigawa State.

Furthermore, President Tinubu has appointed Prof. Yahaya Bunkure as the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Prof. Bunkure, a distinguished figure in science education, is currently the Vice Chancellor at Saadatu Rimi University of Education, Kano.
Both the Federal University of Education in Zaria and Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education in Kano were among four institutions elevated from colleges to universities between 2022 and 2023.
According to the governing statutes of these institutions, the Pro-Chancellor is appointed for a four-year tenure, while the Vice Chancellors hold office for five years.
