Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the head of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has expressed profound appreciation for President Bola Tinubu’s steadfast backing of the Programme’s education-centered projects.

He highlighted the recent initiative that saw 161 beneficiaries from the Niger Delta sent abroad for postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom as a landmark achievement.

In a statement released through his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Otuaro emphasized that this deployment marks a pivotal advancement in bridging the human capital development gap within the Niger Delta region.

He attributed the successful coordination of these scholars for the 2025/2026 academic session to President Tinubu’s personal dedication and generosity, underscoring how the Renewed Hope Agenda continues to prioritize the socio-economic upliftment of the Niger Delta communities.

Otuaro remarked, “I am deeply thankful to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unwavering support of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. Without his benevolence, facilitating the placement of 161 beneficiaries in UK universities would have been unattainable. This substantial number reflects his Renewed Hope Agenda and his heartfelt commitment to the Niger Delta.”

He also praised the indispensable contribution of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, whose strategic oversight was instrumental in steering the deployment process to success.

The PAP leader encouraged the beneficiaries to fully embrace this opportunity, reminding them that their scholarships represent both an honor and a duty.

He urged them to complete their academic pursuits with excellence and return equipped to drive progress within their communities and the nation as a whole.

“This journey transcends mere education; it is a mission to foster peace, development, and renewed optimism,” he added.

Otuaro pointed out that this extensive deployment aligns seamlessly with the government’s broader vision of investing in human resources to cultivate a peaceful and economically thriving Niger Delta.

He stressed that continuous investment in education and vocational training remains the most effective strategy to resolve the region’s historical grievances and economic inequalities.

Furthermore, Otuaro appealed to the people of the Niger Delta to rally behind President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign, highlighting the President’s tangible and consistent goodwill toward the region.

He asserted that it is time for the Niger Delta populace to show their support for a leader who has persistently championed their development.

Reaffirming PAP’s dedication to broadening access to quality education and skill acquisition, Otuaro emphasized these as foundational elements for lasting peace and reintegration.

He concluded by stating that maintaining the current momentum in scholarship opportunities could gradually and permanently address the Niger Delta’s enduring developmental challenges.
