Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has praised US President Donald Trump for his role in facilitating a ceasefire and putting an end to the ongoing violence.
Delegates from Turkiye are set to participate in the Gaza mediation talks scheduled in Doha, following a diplomatic surge triggered by US President Donald Trump’s introduction of a detailed 20-point proposal aimed at ending the brutal conflict.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari stated at a press briefing on Tuesday that “Turkiye is now actively engaged in the US-led initiative” and is working in close cooperation with the involved parties.
He also revealed that Hamas officials received the complete US peace plan late Monday and have committed to a “thorough and responsible review” before providing their response. While it remains premature to predict the plan’s success, al-Ansari expressed optimism, describing the proposal as “comprehensive and promising.”
Qatar has expressed satisfaction with the security guarantees provided by the United States and has accepted Israel’s formal apology for the failed airstrike on Doha on September 9, which targeted Hamas’s senior leadership.
The peace initiative has garnered widespread approval from mediators and global leaders alike, as the relentless conflict in Gaza continues to claim numerous lives daily. Official figures report over 66,000 Palestinian fatalities, with many more presumed trapped beneath the rubble of collapsed structures.

On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commended Trump’s dedication to negotiating a ceasefire and “stopping the ongoing bloodshed.”
Erdogan emphasized Turkiye’s ongoing commitment to the diplomatic efforts, pledging support for the establishment of “a fair and enduring peace that satisfies all stakeholders.”
The proposal aims to remove Hamas from its administrative role in Gaza, offering its members either amnesty or relocation to other nations, while securing the release of all 48 hostages held within the territory and facilitating the delivery of critical humanitarian aid to the starving population.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue their advance into Gaza City with armored units, accompanied by intense aerial bombardments across the region.
Medical personnel at al-Awda and al-Aqsa hospitals reported to Al Jazeera that at least 15 Palestinians were fatally shot by Israeli troops while queuing for aid near a central distribution site in Gaza.
Additionally, a source at al-Shifa Hospital confirmed the death of a child caused by severe malnutrition and lack of medical care. Gaza’s Health Ministry has documented 453 deaths linked to starvation, including 150 children.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to challenge a component of Trump’s plan on Tuesday by releasing a video statement asserting that Israeli forces “will maintain a presence in most of the Gaza Strip.”
This stance contrasts with the peace plan’s assurance that “Israel will neither occupy nor annex Gaza,” and that no annexation of the occupied West Bank will occur en route to the creation of a contiguous Palestinian state.
Qatar, alongside Egypt and the United States, has spearheaded efforts to negotiate a comprehensive ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, conducting multiple rounds of talks in Doha.
