The training regimen prioritizes endurance, discipline, and strategic cohesion as Rwanda aims to pull off a surprise in this two-legged encounter.

The opening match is set for Sunday, 21 September, at Kigali’s Pele Stadium, with the return leg scheduled for 27 September in Ibadan. The team with the highest aggregate score will advance closer to securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup in Mexico.
Support from the Rwanda Football Federation has been strong, with officials encouraging fans to fill the stands and create an electrifying home atmosphere.

On the other side, Nigeria’s Falconets are scheduled to arrive in Kigali on Thursday to finalize their preparations.
Renowned for their dominance in youth women’s football, the Falconets have qualified for every FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup and have twice finished as runners-up. With traditional powerhouse Germany absent this cycle, Nigeria enters the qualifiers as a top contender for the title.

CAF has appointed match officials for the first leg, with Sierra Leone’s Aminata Fullah as the referee, assisted by Hannah Lydia Moses and Fatmata Mansaray, also from Sierra Leone. Liberia’s Love Tuu Wehyee will act as the fourth official.
Back in Nigeria, the Oyo State Government has pledged ₦110 million to support the Falconets’ camp and home match preparations in Ibadan. Commissioner Mojeed Mogbonjubola highlighted that the funds will cover accommodation, meals, transportation, medical needs, and logistics, while also promoting sports tourism within the state.
The Falconets’ impressive record includes participation in every FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, with runner-up finishes in 2010 and 2014, both times falling to Germany in the final.
