United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has officially commenced its 2025 Customer Service Week, embracing the global theme “Mission: Possible.”

This annual event underscores UBA’s unwavering commitment to transforming obstacles into opportunities for its clientele throughout Africa and beyond. Celebrated worldwide as a tribute to exceptional service and customer engagement, UBA’s initiative reinforces its Customer 1st philosophy, which prioritizes customers at the heart of every operation. The chosen theme reflects the bank’s ambition to overcome challenges by delivering innovative solutions that benefit individuals, enterprises, and communities alike.

Oliver Alawuba, UBA’s Group Managing Director and CEO, highlighted the bank’s customer-focused strategy, stating, “As Africa’s premier global bank, we recognize the distinct hurdles our customers encounter across various markets. This drives our continuous investment in cutting-edge technology, skilled personnel, and streamlined processes to make banking more accessible, efficient, and rewarding.”

He added, “This week is more than a celebration of our customers; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to turning the impossible into reality for them.” Complementing this vision, Michelle Nwoga, UBA’s Group Head of Customer Experience, expressed a strengthened dedication to elevating customer satisfaction.

“From facilitating instant cross-border payments to providing uninterrupted digital banking access and empowering small businesses to grow despite challenges, our goal is to deliver transformative service experiences,” she explained. UBA has been at the forefront of customer service innovation, introducing features such as 24/7 multilingual support centers, Leo-the continent’s first AI-driven virtual banker-and frictionless cross-continental remittance services for millions in the diaspora. These achievements highlight UBA’s leadership in dismantling barriers and setting new benchmarks in service excellence.

In celebration of Customer Service Week 2025, UBA will launch a series of targeted initiatives, including capacity-building workshops for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), a nationwide essay contest for senior secondary students, and comprehensive financial literacy programs designed to equip participants with the tools needed to navigate today’s economic landscape successfully.

Operating across 20 African nations and with strategic offices in New York, London, Paris, and Dubai, UBA proudly serves over 45 million customers through nearly 1,000 branches and service points. The bank offers a wide array of financial products that seamlessly connect individuals and businesses across continents.
