On Monday evening, Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in Katsina State for a focused two-day mission dedicated to advancing entrepreneurship, fostering agricultural innovation, and revitalizing infrastructure within the region.
The Vice President’s plane landed at Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina at approximately 5:00 p.m., where he received a warm welcome from Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, his deputy Hon. Faruk Lawal Jobe, the State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, Governor’s Chief of Staff Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, among other top officials.
Accompanying the Vice President were notable figures including the Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa; Senator Muntari Dandutse, representing Katsina South; and Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu, the federal representative for Musawa/Matazu constituency.
The visit was further marked by the presence of dignitaries from the Daura Emirate and the Emir of Katsina’s delegation, led by the Kauran Katsina, alongside members of the Katsina State Executive Council, legislators, and traditional district leaders from various parts of the state, highlighting the collective enthusiasm and solidarity for this significant occasion.
Throughout the visit, Vice President Shettima is slated to inaugurate the newly upgraded dual carriageway connecting Central Mosque to Kiddeis Roundabout, a pivotal urban development project completed under Governor Radda’s leadership.
He will also unveil the Katsina Sustainable Platform for Agriculture (KASPA), a cutting-edge digital tool designed to link farmers with agricultural experts, market opportunities, and suppliers of farming inputs, with the goal of modernizing farming practices and enhancing food security in Katsina.
Additionally, the Vice President will officially commence the 9th National MSME Clinic, a federal initiative that unites entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to stimulate the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises nationwide.
