X rolls out ‘synced drafts’ feature that allows users to continue draft made via app on web

X Unveils Game-Changing ‘Synced Drafts’ Feature: Seamlessly Continue Your Drafts from App to Web!

Social media network X, previously known as Twitter, has introduced a highly anticipated feature that synchronizes drafts across its mobile application and web platform. This update enables users to begin drafting a post on their phone and effortlessly continue editing it on their computer, or vice versa.

In a recent announcement shared on X, Nikita Bier, the company’s Head of Product, highlighted that this functionality has been a top user demand for a decade. He emphasized the challenges users faced without this flexibility, underscoring the significance of the new feature.

“After ten years of requests, we are excited to launch synced drafts: drafts created on the X app will now be accessible when you log in via the web,” Bier stated.

This enhancement offers a fluid experience for those who frequently toggle between the mobile app and desktop browser, eliminating previous frustrations caused by device-specific drafts.

Historically, the inability to pick up a draft from one device on another has hindered user convenience. By addressing this, the Elon Musk-led platform is not only improving usability but also positioning itself to attract a broader audience.

Bier also clarified that, for now, media files embedded within drafts won’t sync across devices. The team prioritized launching the feature promptly despite some limitations, given the long wait users have endured.

“There may still be minor bugs, and media syncing isn’t supported yet, but we wanted to release this feature sooner rather than later,” he added.

Currently, synced drafts are available on the iOS app and the web version of X, allowing users to create and access drafts seamlessly between these platforms.

The Android app, however, is still undergoing redevelopment. Bier mentioned that the synced drafts feature will be included in the upcoming Android update once the rebuild is complete.

X Teases Upcoming Enhancements

Since Elon Musk’s acquisition of the platform in April 2022, there has been a steady push to enhance user experience and expand feature offerings.

Recent data from 2025 indicates that X boasts approximately 650 million monthly active users (MAU) and between 240 to 300 million daily active users (DAU). To boost engagement and grow its community, the platform continues to roll out updates driven by user feedback.

Bier revealed that additional improvements are on the horizon, particularly targeting power users-those who interact with the platform extensively on a daily basis.

“In the coming week, I’ll be releasing several minor upgrades aimed at power users. These are mostly quick fixes that had previously been overlooked. Stay tuned,” he shared in a post on September 30.

Meanwhile, users have voiced requests for features that would enhance navigation and functionality, including:

  • Mobile post scheduling capabilities
  • Addressing disparities in monetization policies
  • Integrating images within poll posts
  • Improved reporting mechanisms
Upcoming video call feature on X

Back in June, Elon Musk announced plans to revive Vine, the short-form video app once owned by Twitter, now reimagined with artificial intelligence capabilities. This revival comes eight years after Vine was discontinued.

The relaunch reflects X’s evolution into an AI-driven platform. Vine’s hallmark feature-creating 6-second looping videos-will be enhanced through AI integration.

This initiative aligns with X’s broader strategy to increase user engagement and reclaim its position in the social media landscape, leveraging a vast network of over 200 million content creators. The move also taps into the growing popularity of short-form video content, a trend that major social platforms are capitalizing on through dedicated reels and clips features.
