Lege Miami, an actor, musician, and self-styled close associate of President Bola Tinubu’s son, Adams Kehinde (widely known as Seyi Tinubu), has addressed why his appearance was omitted from a commemorative video celebrating Seyi Tinubu’s 40th birthday this past week.
In a widely shared clip released on Friday, Lege Miami attributed his exclusion to his limited proficiency in English, which led to the removal of his segment where he shared birthday wishes for Seyi Tinubu from the documentary circulated on social media platforms.
Recognized for hosting the popular online dating show, ‘Singles Matchmaking Live Show,’ Lege Miami claims a personal friendship with Seyi Tinubu, even composing a dedicated song to affirm their bond.
He clarified that Seyi Tinubu himself was not responsible for the cut, explaining that the President’s son’s team chose not to feature his congratulatory message online, unlike the messages from others.
“I accept full responsibility for this situation because my English isn’t fluent. If I spoke better English, I believe Seyi Tinubu would have included me among those who are eloquent and affluent,” Lege Miami explained.
“They came to my home with a camera and recorded my birthday wishes for Seyi. I’m familiar with Seyi’s aides-they’re part of the same circle. The decision to exclude me from the documentary was theirs, not Seyi’s. Don’t hold him accountable. Seyi is a genuine friend. If I had better English skills or presented myself more effectively on social media, I’m sure they would have featured me,” he added.
“Seyi is my close friend, my paddy, the son of our President-he’s truly my friend,” Lege Miami emphasized.
He also urged followers to stop tagging him in posts related to the incident, expressing that the attention was overwhelming.
“Please stop tagging me-it’s becoming too much. Is Seyi responsible for my poor English? Because I can’t speak English well, my video wasn’t included. Seyi isn’t to blame; this is on me,” Lege Miami concluded.
